Black Rock Canyon - Guanaja's underwater maze. One of my favorite dives on the Island - Black Rock Canyon!

Black Rock is one of my favorite dives on the island. It is a bit further than most of the dive sites from Pinnacle House – so its always a bit of a treat to go.
What sets Black Rock apart, and its close cousin Tito’s Labyrinth, from the other dive sites is its topography. Black Rock is a series of sand shoots, caves, and crevices that create an underwater maze. Swim between large cuts in the reef while watching the sunlight dance on the soft, brilliant white sand.
Black Rock also has abundant fish life and beautiful coral along the top. I’ve lucked out numerous times and happened upon eagles rays and other fun creatures.
I tried in this video to capture the essence of Black Rock Canyon. But it is incredibly difficult because I’ve never encountered another dive like it in the world. If you visit Guanaja, be sure to ask to go to Black Rock Canyon. Weather permitting – I’m sure your Divemaster will be thrilled at your request.
